Anika Noni Rose is an American actress and performer. She is best known for her character voiced by Tiana as Tiana in The Princess and the Frog as the one and only African American Disney princess. Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in 2011. Rose appeared as Lorrell Robertson on Dreamgirls that won the Academy Award. Anika Noni Rose (born on the 6th of September 1973) is an American performer and singing. Best known as the voice of Tiana In The Princess and the Frog The first African American Disney princess. She is best known for the character of Lorrell Robinson as the film that won an Academy Award Dreamgirls (2006) as well as her portrayal of LaVerne, the Jukebox Ganner from the Starz TV series Power. Also, she is known for her performances in theatre particularly in her leading roles as Emmie Thibodeaux and as Emmie in Caroline or Change, the Broadway production of Caroline or Change (2004) in which she was awarded the Tony Award for Best Featured actor in a Musical. Also, she starred as Beneatha Younger as part of the Broadway production of A Raisin in the Sun (2014) for which she was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play.
